Cover illustration & design for the neurology thesis ‘Optimizing Care For Ischemic Stroke and TIA Patients’ by Sander van Schaik.  

The cover illustration was inspired by starling murmurations, as it is still quite unclear how these big groups of starlings communicate their seemingly organic movements in the sky. This thesis researched ways to get the many departments in health care to work in the same way as these murmurations do; automatically in synch. The colors are inspired by Sander’s favorite painter William Turner.
